Concorde at Filton ready for take off
The West’s latest and most exciting new visitor attraction is gearing up to deal with the rush of visitors when the Visitor Centre and Concorde 216 – known as Alpha Foxtrot – re-opens to visitors today, Tuesday, and will be open throughout the Easter weekend.
First priority for the Concorde at Filton team has been to contact all the people whose visits were postponed, to invite them to choose a new time and date for their visit. Until most of these tickets had been rebooked, aviation enthusiasts and Concorde fans alike wanting to make new bookings had to be patient for a little while longer to access the telephone and online booking facility, but from today the telephone and online facilities are reopening.
Concorde at Filton is open from Wednesday to Sunday every week with four guided tours daily. Tours last one and a half hours and are restricted to twenty-four people to ensure that all visitors have the time and space to enjoy the Concorde experience.
Oliver Dearden of the Bristol Aero Collection spoke for all the volunteers at Concorde at Filton when he expressed gratitude to all the visitors whose visits were postponed between September and the re-opening. “The support has been tremendous. People have been very patient and our volunteers are delighted that we will soon be welcoming all our visitors to Concorde at Filton.”
